Watercolor on paper.

Fuente del Berro Series:
2026

In the Fuente del Berro water follows its own course through Madrid. Abstract washes, arranged in a poetical structure, trace the spring, the winding ría and the cascade that feeds the ponds. Ducks rest on still surfaces, birds gather at the edges: diverse life sheltered by water in the city’s heart. No foliage, only flow and reflection.

The pigments, transparent and vibrant, contrast with the coarse grain of the paper. Fluid color sinks into the rough tooth, bonding in a game of light and texture: washes pool in the hollows, granulate on the ridges, catching and scattering illumination like water over stone. This union of luminous pigment and textured surface evokes the spring’s breath and the urban stream, each sheet a verse of liquid light and tactile silence.
