In this watercolor a small black snake plays hide-and-seek in the pond of the historic Fuente del Berro garden. Soft blue forms — like stones, lily pads or the shadows of water — float across the pale ground, creating a quiet, almost weightless composition. A slender, looping line of darker pigment weaves among them, ending in a single concentrated point that reads as the snake’s head, half-hidden, half-revealed. Pure blues are laid in transparent washes that bloom and fade at their edges, while the thin stroke remains more assertive, a living thread of color. Pigment and water here enact the game itself: the larger shapes dissolve into atmosphere, the narrow line slips between them. The result is a delicate, almost musical space where the garden pond becomes an abstract field of concealment and discovery.
