On the coarse grain of torchon paper, this abstract watercolor stages a silent yet intense battle between pure pigment, water and fiber. Unmixed colors are released into the flow, their particles granulating and settling according to the paper’s rugged topography. Pale yellows and warm ochres bloom across the surface while water both carries and resists them, creating organic stains and unexpected splatters. Intersecting earthy lines form a fragile architecture that holds the composition without rigidity. From the lower edge a vivid green form rises, sharp and vital against the fading washes. The heavy torchon grain is never passive: it traps pigment in its valleys, directs the liquid over its peaks and turns chance into structure. What remains is the poetry of matter itself — the eternal dialogue of liquid and solid, intention and accident, on a surface that remembers every drop.
